I am actually creating this post for a homework assignment...seeing as I have not blogged in a long LONG time. Part of my lack in blogging is due to the fact I work full time, go to school full time AND have a crazy four year old on my hands. Anything not related to any of the above has taken a backseat. With that being said....I am ALMOST ready to enroll in the medical assisting program!! I have been working my butt off for 2 years to get everything I need and this October, I will be prepared and ready to officially be in the program! I cant even explain to you how exciting this is to me! The only thing that is going to hold me back is that dreaded "wait list." Looks like I will be right on the border of getting in vs. getting put on the wait list. bummer. BUT I will remain optimistic about it and cross every possible thing I can find in the mean time! Now on to my homework questions.....
1. I have mixed feelings about this. I see where the professor is coming from but at the same time I feel that if you show up to class, do the required reading/work, getting a C is a little harsh. I feel like students do slack a lot of the time but for the ones who overachieve, shouldn't be made to do so just to pull an A. I think over achievement should be a choice of the students, not the professor. If you go to class and do what is asked of you, you should be able to get a better grade than a C.
2. I am not really sure why students feel entitled to receive a good grade. I know personally, I never feel "entitled" to an A. I know that if I dont put 100% into an assignment, I am not going to get a 100%. On the other hand, when I do put in a big effort on an assignment and feel like I did the best I could, if I were to receive a C because my professor felt I could have done better, I would be a little pissed.
3. Bottom line, I think you should receive grades based on the effort you put in. Some students are smarter, faster and more efficient than others. I dont think there should be only one way or opinion on what a C or an A is. All students are different and I think it is obvious who are slackers, who is an average student and the overachievers are.

Catching Up
So sorry it has been so long.....how can anyone survive this long without new pictures of Journee. haha. So not a whole lot has been going on. We are just getting through these tough times. Ryan was recently part of the laid of crew. There isnt any building going on in Bend right now which means, nobody needs any tile work done. He might have picked up some side jobs but until then he has been a stay at home daddy! Journee has def. been enjoying it. Thank god for good tax returns (thanks Journee...) i guess its a good thing he has been able to stay home because about 2 weeks ago he was struck with shingles....ouch! So thank god he was able to rest and they seem to be going away.
Journee is a thriving 2 1/2 year old! She is full of energy...about 4 kids worth of energy and is so dang smart! She can count, knows all her colors and can remember and sing a whole song! The great thing is, she has basically tought herself all of this. Right now, her obssesion is hair. Just like Aunt Cyd! Right when I get home from work she makes me sit down and brushes and clips my hair for about an hour. Im not gonna lie, its kind of relaxing. Another cute thing she does is in the morning on the weekends when she wakes up, I bring her in bed with me and put her cartoons on and she holds me, and sings her night night songs we sing to her to me, and plays with my hair so I can sleep longer. Melts my heart!
Thats about all that is going on...like I said not much! You would think for it being so long I would have more to say but....not so much. We are excited to take some summer vacations and come see some of you! My job is still going great! It has been almost 6 months now and I still love going everyday! Thats crazy! Now onto some pics...
We took Journee to a hands on childrens museum that is here and also the High Desert museum which is a museum that has history and animals of Oregon. It was so much fun...

And some random ones....of Journee of course!

I will try my hardest to keep up this time.....no promises though :0)
Love you all! muah!

Well Hello...
Where has everyone been? haha, just kidding...I know I have slacked off on here BIG TIME. A big part of that reason, besides being very busy, is the fact I actually have a job now where I really work. Before at my last job, there was so much time when I had absolutely nothing to do, I was able to sit on the internet and download pictures and do most things you prob. shouldn't be doing at work. So on that note: I LOVE MY NEW JOB!! It is amazing! I have learned sooo much in the couple months I have been there. I know how to take blood pressure, count respiration and pulse, do HIV tests and pregnancy tests and so much more! On Friday it was pretty slow so one of my boss's pulled me in the back and showed me how to draw blood. She let me practice on her twice. The first time was a success and I actually drew blood and the second time....not such a success. She had me use a bigger needle that we normally dont use and it was much harder than the first. It was such a rush! I never thought I would be working at a job that I actually love!
Not to mention the company I work for does so much for young woman and the community! Knowing I work for a nonprofit organization gives me the best feeling ever. Every Thursday we have our local protesters that stand out on the sidewalk with their signs because they fell not everything we do there is right. Well most of the time people come in and leave donations JUST because they are standing out there and they support us. Well last Thursday I was working up front and a lady came in saying she drove by and saw our lovely group of people outside and she decided to turn around and leave a donation because she thinks we are a wonderful company and we do so much to help woman and males and we deserve some appreciation and this and that. She kept saying I am going to leave you guys a big donation and we were all thinking, "OK, $100, great!" NOPE She left us a $1000 check! Can you believe that! There are people out there that support the company I work for enough to just drive by and decide to leave a thousand dollar donation. I will just say it again...I love my job.
There is so much that has happened since last time I blogged, I am a little overwhelmed. So I will start with a couple things, leave some pictures and continue from there. So my mom is up here now and it has been great so far! Her and Journee have been able to make the bond I have been wanting them to have since she was born. They hang out during the day and go to story time at the library, wander down to the park to feed the ducks and fun things like that! It took a little bit of adjusting for Journee and everyone but I think we are all settling into our own routines. We have started going to church on Sundays and Journee loves to go to the "Baby Barn" and hang out with all the toddlers. I am very grateful we found a Church we all love....on the first try too! We have been wanting to go for a while now but for one reason or another always push it aside.
Christmas is only 18 days away and I cant wait! I am lucky enough to have Cydnee come up AGAIN and have my mom and hopefully my dad here with us! The house always seems so full and happy when I have my family here with us! Not to mention....We miss Grandpa! Well...I hear Journee rustling around upstairs so I better get off....the pictures below are from Halloween (Journee was a lion), A hike we did to Tumalo Falls, The Christmas Tree Lighting downtown and my 23rd birthday when Ari came to visit!
I promise I will try my hardest to update soon again with more on what Journee is up to....I know thats what most of you want to know about anyways :0) I love and miss you all!!!!
P.S. Check out Journee's new bangs her Aunt Cyd did when she was down in November. Its one of the pics towards the bottom.
